A snowy walk

A winter’s walk in Rainow looking towards Lamaload Reservoir and Shining Tor. Fantastic bright sun which created a magical impression to the landscape . The Peak District in winter can be both harsh and beautiful. Thin long shadows were dominant and a tint of lilac appeared on the snowy fields .There is so much variety of tone and colour on a day such as this, the tree trunks were illuminated with a golden shine and one was tempted to sit down and produce a quick sketch. This would have occurred if it hadn’t been so cold! Please remember that my January winter SALE is still taking place. Affordable landscape paintings and prints of the Peak District
